چکیده

The Hall resistance was measured by the van der Pauw method on Y Ba2Cu3Ox samples in magnetic fields up to 5 T. In region from 0 to 0.2 T the part of the resistance due to transversal electric field, which is even in magnetic field has been observed just below the critical temperature. This part is gradually suppressed in higher field. Only the Hall resistance (due to odd transversal voltage) has been observed in magnetic field 5 T. The Hall resistance has a typical temperature dependence with negative minimum below the critical temperature. The anisotropy of the Hall resistivity has been observed in this region. We have also tested the reciprocity theorem which is not valid near critical temperature. Submitted to: Supercond. Sci. Technol. Transverse even effect and Hall effect in YBaCuO superconductor 2

Dual Superconductor Mechanism of Confinement on the Lattice

We investigate the dual superconductor mechanism of confinement for pure SU(2) lattice gauge theory in the maximally abelian gauge. We focus on the the dual Meissner effect. We find that the transverse distribution of the longitudinal chromoelectric field due to a static quark-antiquark pair satisfies the dual London equation. Moreover we show that the size of the flux tube scales according to ...

Vortex Dynamics within the BCS Theory

Based on the BCS theory we outline a conventional path integral derivation of the transverse force and the friction for a vortex in a superconductor. The derivation is valid in both clean and dirty limits at both zero and finite temperatures. The transverse force is found to be precisely as what has been obtained by Ao and Thouless using the Berry’s phase method. The friction is essentially the...

Universal property of single topological singularity dynamics

Using the random matrix theory we demonstrate explicitly the insensitivity of the transverse force on a moving vortex to non-intrinsic and non-magnetic impurities in a superconductor. The Berry phase acquired by a moving vortex suggests that the total transverse force on a moving vortex is proportional to the superfluid density at zero temperature, irrespective whether or not impurities are pre...

Motion of Vacancies in a Pinned Vortex Lattice: Origin of the Hall Anomaly

Physical arguments are presented to show that the Hall anomaly is an effect of the vortex many-body correlation rather than that of an individual vortex. Quantitatively, the characteristic energy scale in the problem, the vortex vacancy formation energy, is obtained for thin films. At low temperatures a scaling relation between the Hall and longitudinal resistivities is found, with the power de...

Hall effect at the magnetic-field-tuned superconductor-insulator transition

The Hall effect for disordered superconducting films in magnetic field is discussed, with special focus on the vicinity of the magnetic field-tuned superconductor-insulator transition. Evidence is presented that upon ensemble averaging this transition possesses a "hidden" particle/hole symmetry. This symmetry implies that right at the transition the Hall resistance vanishes. Relevance to recent...
